Well, it looks like our friends at The Polish Mining Community have changed their name to The Polish Pioneers of Calumet, MI. For expediency, I will now refer to them as PPCM. They have also just posted a great piece on the Polish Catholic Stanislaus Kostki Benevolent Society of Calumet, an organization that Stanislaus Pytlewski served for as treasurer for a few years in the beginning of the 20th century. In the document posted on the PPCM, you may notice John Zwierzchowski. John Zwierzchowski was the father of Stanislaus (Stanley) Zwierchowski, and Stanley married Stanislawa (Stella) Pytlewski.
UPDATE:
Correction: John Zwiezchowski married Theresa Pytlewski, not Stella Pytlewski as previously mentioned.
Pytlewski Family Findings 
I am a decendant of John Zwierzchowski. If you look at the 1880 census, they actualy have Stanislaus and Casmere switched. as well as the age of John was incorrect. You’ll find Stanley’s mother’ name was also misspelled in the 1880 census as Josephine Wierzchowski (should be zwierzchowski)
Casimir (switched last name when married to Malczewski) was my great grandfather born 1875, Stanley was born 1879.
John Zwierzchowski (B 1844 in German Poland and lived until his death in Calumet MI until approx 1920’s). John was married to Josephine (maiden name maybe Minc born 1848 in German Poland and was in the 1930 census still living with a daughter)
I found that Stanley Zwierzchowski married Theresa Pytlewski (born 1883) and her Father was Stephen Pytlewski. per the following…

Martin Flens was the Secretary of the Polish Catholic Stanislaus Kostki Benevolent Society of Calumet. Do you have any further information on the founders (specifically Martin Flens)?

Hi Dave, I’m curious to know if you have found any further information about Martin Flens. I believe Mariana Flens was from Bnin, Poland, and it’s quite possibly Martin Flens could have been too. Perhaps there is a relation there.
